Grand Targhee Mary’s Nipple
This short but steep trail takes you into the heart of the Grand Targhee region. This trail forms a vital section of the Targhee Cirque Series. The path will start at the base of Mary’s ridge, where the steepness really kicks up. Together we’ll head up this steep and semi-technical section of singletrack and boulders. While steep, this trail is easy to navigate.
We will enjoy magnificent views of Grand Teton once we hit the summit of Mary’s Nipple, which comes in just shy of 10,000 feet. You will also run along the ridge between Mary’s and Peaked mountains, some world-class ridgeline running!
Death Canyon Trail
While this trail's name sounds imposing, this path winds through gorgeous canyons along some of the less-traveled routes in the Grand Tetons area. The day's run will be nice and long, but with less vertical gain per mile than some of the other trails we will run.
The trail has gorgeous views of Phelps Lake and Death Canyon. The reward for all those switchbacks and vert is worth it, however. You'll see the river and waterfalls absolutely pumping. Your efforts will also result in some spectacular views from the Death Canyon Shelf from Fox Creek Pass.
Cody Peak-ish Trail
Most of the Cody Peak 50k wind trails through private land, making it difficult to scout this event beforehand. Join Aly as we explore the open sections of this 50k race to see what all the fuss is about.
Our trail will start just near Teton Village and climb straight up to the ridgeline, from which the views of the Tetons are spectacular. Our day will end at the top of Rendevous Mountain, having covered a small section of the Cody Peak racecourse.
Jenny Lake Loop
We'll all be excited for a less-vert-focused trail on our last day as we run around Jenny Lake in the Grand Teton National Park. Formed by glaciers in the previous ice age, the lake ends at the terminus of Cascade Canyon.
This trail is one of the iconic places in the Grand Teton National Park, with many trails and other activities you can enjoy from this location. We will cruise along the lake's shores and soak our tired feet in the chilly waters of Jenny Lake.
