I’m Aly, the Owner and Coach for Motivational Movement. I think it is important that I give you a small glimpse of who I am and an explanation of “why” Motivational Movement exists.
I started my fitness journey when I was three…well, at least that is when I ran my first 5k. I ran throughout my Junior High and High School years. Off to college I decided to get in the boxing ring, but quickly turned back to running after a year of learning I couldn’t dodge a punch. After my first child I started to compete in Xterra Off-Road Triathlons….in which I was highly competitive, usually winning my age group and gaining edge on the Pro’s.
I have raced many areas around the globe: Germany, Czech Republic, Italy, Washington D.C., Virginia, Florida, Alabama, Arkansas, Missouri, Oklahoma, Texas, Colorado, Arizona, California, Utah, Wyoming, Illinois, Idaho, Nevada, Washington, Oregon, and Japan.
Soon after having my first child I began my career as a Fitness Trainer. I was hired on at several military bases to train military members that needed help to pass their fitness tests. After a handful of years doing this I have since left the military sector and have trained thousands of civilians. I have worked with those ranging from the beginner level to the very competitive. I have been training others now for over 15 years. I LOVE helping others find their way with fitness, reach goals they never thought possible, watch energy levels raise and attitudes turn towards the positive.
So, "why" Motivational Movement?
Getting to hear the crruunnnchhhh sound of fallen leaves- Aspen, Hickory, Baobab...they all sound different.
The smell of running next to the Potomac in Washington D.C. an almost dense smell compared to the softness of Schultz Creek trails in Flagstaff, AZ.
The sun rising up and breathing life into the new day in the Tetons will make you feel unstoppable versus the cafe's and cobblestone roads in parts of Sicily that draw you to stop and just breathe!
The way people connect, act, move about depending on which country/city/town they are from varies widely, remarkably, and interestingly.
I would happily spend all my free time running new trails, in new places, with unique and fun "run loving" people.
Then injury happens and running becomes hard, movement is difficult, pain engulfs the mind...a lower back injury in 2012 resulting in surgery left me in a bad way. Physical Therapy, Chiropractors, rest- nothing could get me back to pre-Aly run state UNTIL I was introduced to NeuroKinetic Therapy (NKT).
I used NKT to aid in my personal training and the training of others (running, lifting, day to day movement). When my NeuroKinetic Therapist retired I happily studied and put in the hours of effort to learn the practice myself. Now I want to help others that are looking for Motivation to their Movement.
I am ambitious to help you- whether you are in search of pain relief, building a strong capable body, or wanting to PR in your 50k race.
So, let’s do it! Come train with me!
